BIOGRAPHY

Francine Barish-Stern has been a writer since she was 13 and has worked as a freelance writer for newspapers and magazines,  including Town Magazine and Network Magazine.  She has written many award-winning poems, and stories, including "Rainbow City," which won the ACOR prize for arts related works.  Barish-Stern  studied at the Academy of Music and Theatre in New York, and used her acting and teaching background, when she co-wrote “The WE Nobody Knows,” for Crown Players. She has received many awards from New York State for her work with youth, school workshops and her “Tell It To The Future,” seminars, based on that published book.

From 1998 to the present Barish-Stern has been the Executive Director for The Write Source and Golden Quill Press, responsible for editing, manuscript preparation, publication and marketing, as well as teaching writing classes and offering workshops.  Her approach to writing from an acting eye, made her writing workshops fun and very productive.  During her management, Golden Quill Press has written and published many books in-house, including: TELL IT TO THE FUTURE,  NEW HORIZON’S,  FROM AN IDEA...,and most recently the 5th version, HOW TO WRITE YOUR BOOK, and the premier release of her most recent endeavor,

In order to reach as many writers as possible, Barish-Stern became a speaker.  She worked with business and private clients and showed them how writing can be used to better the performance and productivity of their lives and grow their businesses.  She also teaches how writing can improve health, relationship building and overall quality of life.

Barish-Stern has also helped write and fully edit, “TELL OTHERS,” by 94 year old Marjorie Struck, “Seeing the Unseeable,” by 16 year old Ruth Cefola and most recently “Eaton's -the Second French Revolution,” by retired writer Kenneth Bray.

She was also responsible for the publication of many first-time writer’s works:

CHALLENGING MESSAGES FROM BEYOND by Marjorie Struck

COMPASSION'S LURE by Kathleen Lukens

LOVE MAKES A DIFFERENCE by Mary Bianchini and Bobbi Madry

Barish-Stern has also edited numerous fiction and non-fiction works. She is also the author of the sci-fi fantasy, Code 47 to BREV Force, trilogy, a mainstream story with a sci-fi take on relationships and coming of age, while dealing with family, friends, community, and the world around us.  She uses super-heroes in the world of computers, holograms, clones and sentient beings, to help our young people tackle life issues.

In the last few years she has again turned her attention to our youth and is tutoring many young writers.  In her efforts to bring out their creativity, Barish-Stern  has gone back to basics and uses her training from her alma mater, The Academy of Music and Theatre in New York, to help them unleash their creativity and imagination with an actor’s view of writing.  However busy, she continues to present writing seminars and writes her own stories and articles for the internet, newspapers and for various publications.
